Entrepreneurship in Action

 

1. Please see the details on this website. Students on this course are strongly encouraged to participate. It is an important additional component in broadening and deepening your education in entrepreneurship and enterprise skills development.
   
2. VOLUNTEERS: Five volunteers are required to form a committee which will be charged with the organisation of these events in the Centre for Entrepreneurship. You will be issued with an appropriate certificated to acknowledge this initiative. Please contact Mr. Danny Sondakh at the Centre, Ext: 9835, Room A204 or by emailing him at D.F.Sondakh@gre.ac.uk.

 

Assessment

 

Presentation of Business Plans: 4th May 2004.

 

Examination Period: 10th - 21st May 2004.

 

1. Details of your assessment?
   
  You will be given initial instructions during the first lecture on 20 January, 2004.
   
  Please also refer to the requirements as listed in the Course Outline.
   
2. Business Plan:
   
  The main requirements will be outlined in the first lecture.
   
  Briefly,
   
  i During the first lecture, you will be requested to work with your Project Team and to start immediately to think about a business opportunity that each one of you can realistically expect to develop and launch as a small or micro- enterprise.
     
  ii Over the following four weeks, i.e. 20 January – 17 February, to reflect upon these five potential opportunities per group during each of your Project Team meetings. Take note of the ideas from the lectures and tutorial discussions, and specifically the lecture on “Business Planning for the Entrepreneurial Venture”.
     
  iii Each team will then need to identify a business opportunity from the five available to it using ideas from the course and from the Enterprise in Action event. This will need to be handed in to Mr. Daniel Tarka by 4.00 pm on 17 February, 2004.
     
3. Working Diary:
   
  You will need to submit the following which will form the basis for deciding the marks to be awarded for each team member in the final assessment of the Business Plan.
   
  i Signed minutes of the meeting(s) to discuss and identify the opportunity from those presented by all team members. (Dates, venue, members present, very brief details of each opportunity and the selection criteria used for the final choice). Submit on 3 February 2004 at your tutorial.
     
  ii Signed minutes of the meeting (s) on agreeing team roles, responsibilities and schedules for completion of specific tasks. Submit on 17 February 2004 at your tutorial.
     
  iii Signed minutes of the meeting(s) on reviewing of progress and agreeing completion strategy. Submit on 9 March 2004 at your tutorial.
